• Register to get your Video-Beam mobile UserID, Password and Access Code;
          Registration confirmation is sent to your Email
          (Your Access Code is needed to synchronize your primary and mobile locations during login)
          (A VideoBeam directory will be created on your hard drive during registration)

  • If you have not already done so, install Microsoft .Net Framework 4 (required)    Click Here
         
         
         
  • Install a media encoder (at least one of the following media encoders is required) ...


  •       Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 (recommended) (free version works fine) (windows XP/Vista/W7)

          ImageMagick   (also recommended) (windows 2000/XP/Vista/W7)       Or   Windows Media Encoder 9 SDK (windows 2000/XP/Vista/W7)

          Notes: Windows Movie Maker versions 2.1 and earlier do not support the capture of an MPEG video stream needed by some phones.

  • Install the VideoBeam Express Encoder Program. It is (required) to automate the use of any/all of the above encoder programs ...
          The VideoBeam Express Encoder Program automates the capture & transcoding process and stages video files for server processing.
          It is installed in the appropriate \Users subdirectory. A shortcut is also included.
          (see Installation Notes at the end of this page)

  •       HERE  (click Install, Open or Run to automatically install on your system)
          The program will automatically run, create a test video file, and upload to the server.
          This is done to confirm the installation and proper operation of the components.
          (see Important Notes below)

  • If you will be running the Windows Media Encoder 9, you will also need to download ServerConnect.exe

          Save the program to your \VideoBeam directory
          This is needed for transferring files to the server when using Windows Media Encoder 9.

          Install SmartHome or ActiveHome Pro Software and Controller (examples: X-10 CM15A controller)

  • Be sure you update your firewall - allow inbound & outbound traffic - needed for Video I/O ...
          (TCP, UDP, ICMP, HTTP through port 8080) and (FTP through ports 20 and 21)


  • Using Internet Explorer, navigate to the following Video-Beam Login page:
          (http://www.VideoBeam.com/Login.asp)

  •       Login  (on the Login page, Enter your Access Code, Check primary, click GO)

  • Once you are at the Primary Command Center page, maximize the page, Click the PC <---> Mobile Readiness Check
          If all the Readiness Data appears OK, you can Send and Receive commands using your PC or Mobile Phone





  • Start the Video-Beam App (Android)
          OR open the Mobile Phone's Web Browser App, navigate to the Login page ( http://www.videobeam.com/Mobile/Login.asp )
          Enter your Access Code, Check Mobile, click GO


  • Now you can send commands to, and monitor Video of your primary location from your mobile phone/computer location
