VideoBeam - Video / Audio Reception Test

Select Audio Device	Select Video Device

To display a local video source (i.e. your Webcam or Capture Card) here,

without encoding or broadcasting your video on the Internet,

the program VideoBeamLocalVideo.exe is needed.

Click Yes to the ActiveX popup box, then Click the Run or Open button when

you first load this page and the download box appears.

It will show a preview of your video source here directly, while viewing this page.

A new directory is automatically created on your drive (example: C:\VideoBeam)

and the program: VideoBeamLocalVideo.exe is saved into the new directory.

Other essential files are also saved into the new directory.

Notes:

A new directory is created automatically if needed, if you answer 'Yes'

If an ActiveX control interaction box appears, Click Yes for the ActiveX control interaction.

When the Save or Run box appears,

Click Run or Save as VideoBeamLocalVideo.exe into the VideoBeam directory.

After running, click 'Start My Video Preview' button.

Notes about this page ...

1. If, after loading this page, and trying both the Run and the Download options, clicking 'Show My Devices',
     and you still do not see your audio and video devices in the Select boxes on the page, you may be able
     to go to the Videobeam directory and double-click on ListDevices.bat file.
     That should update the Devices.txt file in the same VideoBeam directory.
     Then try refreshing this page and clicking on 'Show My Devices'.

2. If you have more than one video device (example: a webcam AND a capture card),
     and the program cannot connect to the device you selected on this this page,
     the program will try to use the first device found (typically default device 0).

3. If another program on your system is actively using the selected video device,
     (like Windows Messenger, Netmeeting, Windows Live, Windows Media Encoder, My Broadcast),
     this web page will be unable to connect to it for displaying local video on this page.

4. While this web page is open, if you have clicked Start My Video, and your video device is busy displaying video on this page,
     and you start any other video capture program, the video device being used by this page will be unavailable.

5. You may need to add Read and Execute security permissiond to the C:\VideoBeam folder for users who need this.

6. For demonstration purposes, the Remote Video Monitoring screen is connected a random location within VideoBeam.

7. If you have installed Windows Media Encoder, your local video source should be broadcasting on port 8080 using Windows Media Encoder.

8. When using the Begin My Broadcast button this page assumes you have installed Windows Media Encoder at the default location ...
     If you installed to a different location, you will have to start Windows Media Encoder manually, then refresh this page.

9. The VideoBeam directory and all its contents can be safely deleted. No un-install procedure is needed.
